    The famous Marimurtra Botanical Garden in Blanes was founded by Carl Faust, an enthusiastic German amateur biologist. It is divided into three areas – subtropical, temperate and mediterranean – where a total of about 3000 species of plants are cultivated.

    The Pinya de Rosa Tropical Botanical Garden is around two kilometres from Blanes, a visit that is ideal for garden´s enthusiasts. An unusual interesting feature to be pointed out  is the fact that some of its beautiful large flowers on display open at dusk and can be admired in all their splendour at night.
